DMfE coursebooks are modern. They were prepared in 2006 and contain only contemporary vocabulary and grammar that is adapted to the present examination standards.
DMfE coursebooks consist of questions concerning only current topics that are of interest to Students.
DMfE coursebooks are updated on a regular basis. The present 2nd edition was
introduced within two years of the Publisher's presence on the market. In the year 2011 we
are planning another revision of our books. We will take care of reviewing the coursebooks
not only from the linguistic point of view but also from the point of view of context validity.
DMfE coursebooks were created by a team of teachers with a 15-year experience in
teaching by means of direct methods and reflect many years of considerations concerning
the scope of material and the manner of its introduction.
DMfE coursebooks contain several hundred useful words which cannot be found in the
other, older direct method coursebooks, for instance, "email", "cash machine" or "mobile
phone". What is more, they do not contain numerous old-fashioned words that are no
longer in use, such as "wireless" (meaning radio) or "whilst". |
DMfE coursebooks, at each stage, include many more questions than any other direct
method coursebooks. On average, for each group of words that are being introduced, there
are up to 5 or 6 questions, whereas in other coursebooks there could be as few as 1 or 2. |
DMfE coursebooks as the only ones on the market of direct method coursebooks include
the phonetic transcription of all new words. |
DMfE coursebooks represent a practical approach to the grammar of the English
language. The coursebooks include new explanations of grammar which are much shorter,
more practical, easier to understand as well as written with the use of contemporary
grammar terms. There are no such terms in the coursebook as "duration forms", or "past
subjunctive conditional". |
New grammar issues appear in DMfE coursebooks that fail to appear in other direct
method coursebooks, for instance inversion, would like somebody to, wish. |
DMfE coursebooks expand the direct method with additional elements, such as:
- additional grammar lessons to facilitate better understanding and consolidation of
grammar material first introduced orally,
- communicative exercises to help Students learn how to ask questions and practise
structures that are useful from the point of view of communication. |
Especially for DMfE coursebooks, the Publisher has created an Internet platform (online
e-learning programme) where users can find even more attractive exercises and receive over 100 extra hours of learning free of charge. |
DMfE coursebooks offer a completely new page layout facilitate using using the book. |
Each coursebook comes with a free CD with recorded lessons and dictations.
